Unless you’ve lived under a rock for the last 10 years, you’ve heard of eBay and some crazy amounts of money that people are making from it. At any given time on eBay, there are over 19 million items on sale on eBay, and according to a recent survey, 3 million Americans claimed that money generated on eBay was a primary or secondary source of income for their household.

Getting started on eBay is very simple these days. If you know how to take a digital photo of your item, you should have no problems with the posting process. Here are some tips for making the most out of your first eBay sales:
- The things you sell don’t have to be super rare or very unique. eBay has a very large audience these days, so even every-day items go for a fair price. Try listing your old cell phone, some clothing that is in good condition, or some old books. You will be surprised!
- Not sure about the value? Considering throwing it away? Don’t! Just list the item with a $1.00 starting price. Again, you’ll be surprised what people will pay for your junk.
- Don’t give up. Many eBay newbies give up early because their sales aren’t where they want them to be. They often don’t pay attention to one very important fact: your feedback rating. When you join eBay, you have 0 for a feedback rating. Many buyers are hesitant to purchase from new eBay sellers. The only way to get through this is to keep selling! Eventually, your ratings will increase along with your sales!
